About CM Counseling and Supervision
Welcome to CM Counseling and Supervision. “CM” references the crescent moon, a symbol of wholeness in any phase of life:

"The moon is a reminder that no matter what phase you are in, you are still whole."
-anonymous

This quote inspires my conviction that it is possible to access new clarity and a new direction at any phase of someone’s life, and regardless of how long symptoms have persisted. I believe that every person has strengths inside of them that, once accessed and trusted, can pave a clear path forward to building a more fulfilling and aligned life.

Therapy that Bridges the Gap
I am a therapist who focuses primarily on the stages of therapy beyond insight-building. Awareness into our issues and their origins is an incredible foundation, but too often I find we can get stuck there, stranded in an ever-widening gap between what we know and what we continue to experience in our emotions, beliefs, and reactions to life.
Early in my own trauma recovery, I encountered the challenge of understanding my patterns without being able to change them. I had received all of the professional training and read all of the books, but something was encoded in my nervous system that felt out of reach. I understand the frustration of confusing disproportionate reactions, values-driven aspirations being hijacked by fear-based motives, and the clash between a put-together exterior and internal distress.
Learning to bridge the gap between insight and change was essential for me. I love my work, especially applying IFS, because it’s a joy to help others apply these lessons in their own lives.

I believe the therapy process should be nothing short of life-changing. When you make this investment in yourself, your expectations for your therapist should be high. My commitment to you is to be as present and grounded as possible in every session, to explore your priorities with compassion and curiosity, and to help you access the clarity and relief you're seeking as early on in the process as possible.
I view therapy as a shared journey that asks both therapist and client to show up with honesty, courage, and a willingness to explore the unknown. I see each session as an opportunity to interrupt cycles in real time and create space for new discoveries. Each session builds off of the last, toward transformational change that cuts beneath the surface of symptom management.
I would describe my style as engaging, warm, and direct. I'm straightforward in demonstrating how new possibilities can be explored to help parts of you step out of their habitual roles. It's vulnerable to be a beginner, especially with a new therapy approach. When I challenge clients, there is no judgment—I take the time to explain why a new approach may be worth trying.

Who Thrives in This Work

Many of my clients are high-functioning and appear put-together on the surface, but are exhausted from fighting themselves underneath. They've managed stress and life's demands well for years, but notice something is shifting with their capacity to juggle it all. It can be jarring when confusing symptoms and triggers suddenly start to manifest.
What these struggles often have in common is subtle, often overlooked traumas and beliefs that were never fully addressed, or dismissed as "not that bad." A major life transition, accumulated stress, or a series of losses can activate these old wounds, disrupting the delicate balance that was in place.

Outcomes to Expect
Through all of the challenges of walking this path myself, every step has been worth it to connect with myself and others in more meaningful ways. I've experienced lower anxiety, increased confidence, and stronger relationships. I participate in social causes I care about, have reconnected with creative outlets, and have developed a deeper commitment to my goals and ambitions. Experiencing these gifts and witnessing them unfold with my clients inspires me on a weekly basis that the same is possible for anyone willing to do the work.
